“The Wine Lover’s Coloring Book” by Louise Wilson: An Interactive and Fun Way to Learn About Wine

There is a major difference between just doing your job in the food and beverage industry and following your passion. I find there is a turning point where you realize this is not just a job to get you by, but it’s a career. How you carve your career, is your choice. As my career was just beginning, I had the blessing to meet one of Canada’s top women in the wine world, Louise Wilson.

She holds two sommelier certifications, one with the International Sommelier Guild (ISG) and the other with the Wine Spirits Education Trust (WSET). Currently Louise works with one of Canada’s top wine companies, Andrew Peller Limited, and resides in Ontario’s wine region while studying her Masters of Wine. She has been there for me as a mentor in the wine world and as an inspiration to find my own place within this industry.

Through her studies she’s realized that we all cannot travel to the wine regions we read, study and/or obsess about in the world. Louise has always loved to color and has always loved studying maps. Now she has created, “The Wine Lover’s Coloring Book” as a book that makes learning the world’s wine regions interactive and fun.

Louise has always strived to make learning about wine enjoyable and informative. This book covers geology, gastronomy, history, language, science, business and geography. You can tour the wine regions and then test your knowledge by coloring your own map!

This book is appealing for both beginners and sommeliers alike. When studying for my sommelier certification I really could have used this book as a tool in my studies. And currently I am going to use it to review and revisit all the regions! It’s time to hit the books, but at least it’s fun this time!

Cheers!
