Thanks for introducing the winery! I will add them to my list of places to visit in Napa, it is so nice to see wineries like this set the standard in sustainable/organic wines.

And what a fun place to experience. Marnie is so welcoming. The wine is incredible. Ralph's pizza is heavenly. Jimmy's tour is delightful & made me want to instantly commit to a 1/2 barrel. Scotty's descriptions & wine stories are intensely informative. The Meritage and the Super Tuscan are my personal favorites. I'll be back for more...See you soon.

I just reviewed a New York Blaufrankisch that could have been described much like this South African Shiraz. Paired very nicely with a lamb stew. Over the years I have been a bit disappointed with the red wine of SA, but maybe time to re-think them and try a few. Nice post.

Aaron,

Yay, you! I read through your post thinking there would be a lot of misinformation, as so many wine folks get the RWH thing wrong (after all, many of us are liberal arts majors, not MDs) but you hit the nail on the head. For the record, I'm a wine educator and have fielded the RWH question often; after much research I tend to think the culprit is the histamines.
