Barokes Wine in a Can

Wine in a box? How about wine in a can??

The Vinsafe™ wine packaging system, invented and patented by Barokes Wine, is one that enables wine to be canned, increasing its transportability and longevity. Barokes produces and markets its product within Australia and exports to quite a large number of international markets, including countries such as Japan, Korea, China, and the European Union, where Vinsafe™ has been granted patents.

Its technology is recognized globally as the leading wine in a can packaging system. It represents a researched and proven method for the packaging of wine in aluminium cans/can bottles, with the aluminum lined to prevent any reaction that would impart flavors to the wine or degrade the container. The techniques used to do this are similar to what some craft brewers have been using, but wine’s high acidity and alcohol levels require a thicker lining.

Some of the advantages of wine in a can echo those of wine in Tetra Pak. Canned wine is extremely convenient and efficient to transport, making it perfect for traveling, camping, boating or just about any outdoor activity the wino in you can imagine. It is easier to dispose of than a bottle and is recyclable and environmentally friendly. Since the wine is packed into 187 mL servings, one can enjoy just one of these portion-packs without having to open and waste the remainder of a 750 mL bottle. This also enables one to be able to try several varieties of wine in one night, instead of limiting oneself to only one type of wine.

And the quality of the wine? It’s actually pretty high! Barokes is the only wine in the can to have produced numerous Platinum and Gold Medal winning wines. It has received over 110 medals at well-known international wine competitions, including the title of “Best in Class” against some respected high-end wines, some of which are values up to US$65.00 per bottle!
